Dice & Diary
Print & play
Print at home on A4 or US Letter, or play on a tablet. A two-minute guide.
Print & play
Which file do I print?
Every game comes in five versions. Pick the one that fits your printer and your evening.
- Color, US Letter or A4: the full illustrated book
- Ink-saving, US Letter or A4: white pages and light gray art, same game
- Interactive: for tablets and computers, nothing to print
- Print at 100% / Actual size. Everything sits inside safe margins on both paper sizes
- Print the cut-out pages once; print journal pages and recipe cards as often as you like
What to print for your first evening
You don't need to print the whole book. For evening one of any game, print these pages and keep the rest on screen:
- the “Your first evening, played with you” pages
- the Ledger (you'll color it in as you play)
- one or two journal pages, or use any notebook you love
Printer settings
- Choose the PDF that matches your paper: US Letter or A4.
- Print at 100% / Actual size. Every page keeps its content inside safe margins, so nothing gets cut off on a home printer.
- Short on ink? Use the Ink-saving files: white pages, light gray art, the same game.
- Regular printer paper works. For the deck and the cut-outs, a heavier matte paper (around 160 gsm / 60 lb cover) feels lovely, but it's optional.
Cut-outs, cards and the junk journal kit
- Print the cut-out pages once: the deck, improvements and the junk journal kit.
- Print journal pages and recipe cards as often as you like.
- Scissors and a glue stick are all you need. Washi tape is a bonus.
Playing on a tablet
Open the Interactive edition in GoodNotes, Notability, Adobe Acrobat or Xodo. The tabs on the side jump between chapters, page references are links, and you can type in the fields or write with a stylus. No printing needed.
The digital companion
Every game has a companion page that rolls the die and the tables for you and keeps your tallies. Scan the QR code on the contents page of your game, or open the link in your phone's browser. Nothing to install.

Tonight, one page. By winter, a whole story.
Put the phone in the other room, make something warm, and roll.
